A Fierce Advocate and Creative Guide On Your Path to Healing and Wholeness
Heather is a dedicated therapist who brings deep compassion, creativity and insight into her work with individuals, couples, children and families. She is deeply passionate about supporting those navigating severe depression, anxiety and trauma.
Heather is known for her deeply intuitive presence and for empowering her clients to rediscover their voice, their worth, and their capacity for growth. Heather is a masterful couples and family therapist, and includes family members in therapy whenever she can in order to support the best outcomes. Using art allows her to effectively work with very young children who are struggling with grief, behavior concerns, eating issues, trauma, and anxiety. She specializes in family dynamics and couples therapy, approaching relational work with a focus on harm reduction, solution-building, and more meaningful communication. Whether she is working with a child, a family in distress, or a couple seeking connection, she brings care, collaboration, and fierce advocacy to the therapeutic process.
Before coming to Ragos, Heather was a very well known therapist on the SIU unit at Linden Oaks, for patients who were deeply struggling with depression, hopeless feelings, and self-injury. She was known for having the magic to connect with and help people who never thought they could get better. Heather has an extraordinary gift for meeting people exactly where they are, no matter how stuck or discouraged they feel, and helping them rediscover their strength, worth and potential for healing.
Clients often describe Heather as someone who truly sees them. Her ability to witness the heart of each person she works with – and to help them see it too – makes her an invaluable partner on the path to healing.
It should be noted that Heather is a well-known eating disorder specialist and has helped eating disorder clients of all ages, including children working with their families.
Heather is specialized in art therapy for clients who wish to use this modality:
Through the powerful medium of art, Heather helps her clients move through unconscious barriers, release emotional pain, and reconnect with their inner strength and beauty. Her sessions create space for self-discovery, transformation, and healing at a soulful level.
Ever since she began using art as a form of healing negative behaviors and expressing emotions, she has continually witnessed the way that art can transcend obstacles, overcome resistance, and heal the soul. With a master’s degree in Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and years of experience guiding clients through profound emotional growth, Heather has a unique gift for helping people express what words cannot always hold.
*In addition to therapy, Heather also offers Life Coaching services to clients regardless of location. Coaching provides a refreshing, strength-based approach to unlocking your true potential and achieving the results that matter most to you.
