Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a type of anxiety disorder. According to the Cleveland Clinic, OCD “traps people in endless cycles of thoughts and behaviors.”
Rago & Associates has an array of strategies and techniques to help create a custom treatment plan to help you find relief.
People with OCD have unwanted, recurring and distressing thoughts, fears, or images (obsessions) that they cannot control. The anxiety produced by these thoughts leads to an urgent need to perform certain rituals or routines (compulsions).” Unfortunately, performing the rituals provides only temporary relief and not performing them creates intense anxiety. The thoughts and rituals of OCD cause distress and interfere with daily life and functioning. Many people with depression, other anxiety disorders, learning disorders, attention deficit disorders, and eating disorders have struggles with aspects of OCD related to these conditions. Be sure to share any OCD thoughts or behaviors with your counselor.
OCD has a strong biological component. You may find someone else in your family who has it too. High stress can also cause OCD symptoms to manifest. An important part of treatment is finding out what these symptoms mean to you and why they arose to be sure to have the most comfort in letting them go.
One complication with obsessive compulsive disorder is that we feel compelled that we have to say or do or repeat certain things. Doing so feels very comfortable and not doing so can feel almost unbearable. This makes people likely to be secretive and isolated with their illness. People so often feel like they do not want someone to take their symptoms away. Rago's works together with you to make sure you are in control of each decision and you are as ready as you can be for each change. Deciding whether or not to change something, like looking at the negatives that it brings into your life, can be the most important step to making a change. And you will need to have an understanding therapist that you trust in order to make the progress you wish to.
The ultimate OCD treatment is found in exposure response prevention strategies. But some treatment centers give you a paper and tell you to go implement the strategy at home with your mom. RAGOs DOES IT WITH YOU TOGETHER for ultimate support and effectiveness. We want you to succeed! We want to make plans with you that sort out what symptoms you are having and then help you step by step to reclaim your life through overcoming these problems.
